PRACTICE NURSESThe practice has two practice nurses and a healthcare assistant who are trained to deal with many aspects of patient care. Should You See The Practice Nurse?Many patients say they are unsure at times whether they should see the doctor or the practice nurse. It's difficult to be exact but the following list is a good guide. Remember, if you see the nurse she always has the option of referring you to the doctor for further care if she considers it necessary. See the nurse for:* Blood pressure check * Cervical smears, period problems, etc * Childhood immunisation * Diet advice (to reduce weight, reduce cholesterol, diabetic diet etc) * Ear syringing or minor ear ailments * Family planning advice, contraception treatment * Menopause support * New patient medicals * Over 75 years health check * Removal of stitches * Stop smoking advice * Travel advice and vaccinations See the healthcare assistant for:
